According to the United States Department of Agriculture, EAB larvae can cause severe damage or even kill trees by the way they move throughout and feed on the tree. These devastating insects tunnel under the bark and feed on the part of the tree that moves water and sugars up and down the trunk. With this type of movement and activity, a tree has little hope of having a long and prosperous life.

How Can You Prevent the EAB from Spreading?

However, this rarely takes place due to enforced EAB guidelines. Remember this simple rule when using firewood, “Buy it where you burn it.”
